Good evening, I have a question regarding Mr. Lahore. I see that you take 100,000 IU of vitamin D3 per day. The question is, what is your blood level of vitamin D3? I just finished 2024 having taken an average of 10,000 IU per day, and I have a vitamin D3 25OHD level of 149 ng/ml at the end of December. Shouldn't we regulate the daily intake of vitamin D without exceed ing a blood level of 150?"
My blood level has been around 200 ng for 4+ years - with the exception that it dropped to 128 ng when I switched to a lower cost vitamin D for a few months - which was not water dispersible.
My name is Francis Pellacœur, I am French and I am retired from European space activities. Like you, I am an engineer and I became passionate about vitamin D three years ago. I have read a good number of books on vitamin D and vitamin K2, mainly American, as well as the Coimbra protoco
(177 cm 77kg 75 years)
my personal vitD history
Taking vitamin D (1600 UI) and K2 (75mcg) since 2019 to to 2022 : for a result of 25OHD of 37 mg/ml
-2023 I took 5000 UI of D3 and 200
mcg of K2 and get a result of 86 ng/ml
-2024 I went on taking 10000 UI /day and 20000UI during the last three months my level of vit D was 124 ng/ml in septembre 2024 and 149 ng/ml in décembre 2024
It seems I have good reactions making nearly 40ng/ml in six months
What is the daily dose? Depending on the number of genes expressed, knowing that if one takes 10,000 IU per day, the number of regulated genes is about 1,300 for a level of 80 ng/ml, can we not assume that by taking 20,000 to 25,000 IU per day, we could reach around 2,000 genes, which would be the supposed maximum amount of genes expressed by vitamin D? Also knowing that 25,000 IU per day is the maximum dose acquired by natives of Ecuador when they are fully exposed to the sun.
According to von Helden's scheme, I find a level of 120 for 25,000 IU compared to 79 for 10,000 IU and 41 for 4,000 IU.
So: 2,000 genes for 25,000 IU and a level of 120 ng/ml may be good aims
After reading all these books, I was fortunate to start with Professor Holick's book, and I developed my own understanding of the properties of vitamin D. I also had the chance to discover your site, vitaminedwiki, which is a goldmine regarding vitamin D.
I found out what an interesting man you are and the extraordinary work you have accomplished, and I thank you in advance for that.
I felt it was important to write to you now in 2025, especially to give you my best wishes for a 2025 full of projects.
In fact, I am like you; I want the world to be healthier, and I am fortunate to have a family that listens to me. I have advised them to take vitamin D3 and vitamin K2, especially for my five grandchildren. French people are very difficult to convince of the extraordinary properties of vitamin D., I have the impression they I don’t believe me.
I only speak about things I am convinced of.
I will increase my subscription to support you.

Thank you.

There is, however, a 300% increase in the response by taking an Omega-3 emulsion (which I take) over standard Omega-3. Also, the rat study showed, I believe, a 30% increased response by taking the Omega-3 weekly instead of daily (which I am trying)

100,000 every 4 days, not daily

A person should take regular vitamin D3 with a fatty meal, otherwise much less gets into the bloodstream. Details at https://vitamindwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page_id=15603
thanks you for your answer
I will send you other questions after a short présentation of me

There appears to be only a 3% increase in Omega-3 by taking CoQ10
